What Is Specialty Virtual Care?
U of U Health specialists now offer Virtual Visits to patients when it is determined to be appropriate. Virtual Visits with a specialist are just like an in-person office visit with a specialty care provider, but can be conducted remotely using the app or other digital platform specified by the provider. On a secure virtual connection, the specialist can:
- assess your need for in-person care,
- monitor after-surgery recovery,
- go over X-rays or test results,
- provide an opportunity to ask questions,
- and more.
How Do I Schedule a Specialty Virtual Visit?
Most of our specialty physicians conduct virtual care whenever possible. Our care coordinators can help set up your appointment, then follow up with you if the physician thinks a virtual visit is appropriate.

NOTE: Not every provider conducts Virtual Visits and not every type of visit is appropriate for Virtual Care. Please contact your provider鈥檚 office to confirm that they participate and that the care you need can be conducted virtually.
