CommonSpirit Health is pleased to announce СAPP emergency physicians are now providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients who visit the Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake (HCS), effective July 1.
This new opportunity for patient care is the result of the strategic clinical partnership between CommonSpirit Health and U of U Health announced in November 2024. Through the alliance, a total of 46 board-certified emergency medicine physicians from U of U Health will rotate to Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake, providing care alongside the current emergency department team members.
“We believe in providing outstanding care close to home, and through this partnership, we are expanding access for everyone who visits Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake,” said Jeremy Bradshaw, Utah Market President for CommonSpirit Health. “We look forward to building a long-lasting relationship with СAPP that increases our impact on the health and well-being of our community.”
“This collaboration is an important step forward in expanding access in our region,” said Erica Bisson, M.D., M.P.H., System Chief Medical Officer for U of U Health. “By joining our two teams, we’re strengthening our ability to provide timely, high-quality care to every patient who needs it.”
The Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake has 15 beds, including two trauma bays, two OB beds, and one labor and delivery bed. Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake is centrally located in Utah’s capital city, serving residents of downtown, east central Salt Lake, and the Avenues.
The Emergency Department at U of U Health is a Level 1 Trauma Center, specializing in rapid care for critically ill and time-sensitive cases such as STEMI (heart attack), stroke, and major trauma. It serves patients across Utah, Neveda, Wyoming, Idaho, and western Colorado.
